FALL COLOURS STUDIO TOUR / DANDELION STUDIO TOUR

NEW ARTISTS APPLICATION INFORMATION

The first Westport and Area studio tour (Fall Colours) began in 1990 and continues to be a strong attraction for art lovers far and wide. Located among the area lakes and quaint village of Westport these tours have a reputation for high quality art work from professional artists who open up their studios to the public on Victoria Weekend and Thanksgiving Weekend. Each weekend has its own unique flavour and mixture of artists. We welcome new members and guest artists to join us in celebrating the art in our lives. The artist members of the tour work as a volunteer committee which meets several times a year to organize the tours. Artists interested in becoming a member or a guest on one or both of the studio tours are invited to apply by sending us your ‘PORTFOLIO PACKAGE‘ to be juried. The deadline for new applications is Jan 15th. The committee will contact you after the jurying is complete.

Your ARTIST PORTFOLIO PACKAGE must include the following:

1) The application – complete the application form attached.

2) Photos - submit for jury 5 digital photos on a C.D. They should be in jpeg with 300 dpi.

- photos must represent the artwork you plan to sell on the tour.

- these photos will also be used for our brochures, web sites & possible publicity/advertising.

- Note: If you are applying for both tours we can use the same 5 photos for jurying both.

(as long as you are displaying similar work at both tours.)

3) Photo list -list each photo with its title, size & medium.

- indicate which one photo should be used for the brochure of each tour

- indicate which two photos should be used for the web site of each tour

- Note: If you are applying for both tours please indicate which photos are for which tour.

Brochure photos should be different. Website photos can be the same.

4) Artist C.V. - artist statement, bio, shows, etc.

5) Production Information – give production details if the art work is not made entirely by applicant

6) Brochure Blurb – a short description of your work with a maximum of 15 words (for both the Fall & Dandelion Tours). We reserve the right to edit.

7) Studio Applicants – directions to your studio for the Brochure

8) Website Blurb – one paragraph describing you and your work with a maximum of 150 words.

9) Cheque(s) for the tour fee(s) must be dated no later than Feb 15th. (see application for amounts)

10) * Self addressed stamped envelope must be included if you want your portfolio returned.

Note: if you wish to apply for both the Fall Colours Tour and the Dandelion Tour you may send all the information in one package. You must include separate cheques for each tour.
